7 Tips for Glowing Skin in March

As the winter season comes to an end, our skin has been through a lot this year! The cold, dry Idaho air strips our skin of its natural oils and moisture, leaving it dull, dry, and flaky. Therefore, it's essential to tweak your skincare routine to help your skin combat with the harsh weather conditions!

At Spa Lumos we understand the importance of healthy, glowing skin all year round, which is why we have put together some useful winter skincare tips to help you maintain radiant and healthy skin during the colder months.

Hydration for glowing skin

2. Moisturize: The dry air can quickly strip your skin of moisture, leaving it feeling tight and uncomfortable. Invest in a good moisturizer and apply it liberally to your face and body. Look for products with ingredients like hyaluronic acid, glycerin, and ceramides that help to lock in moisture.

4. Invest in a Humidifier: The dry indoor heat can further dehydrate your skin. Investing in a humidifier will help add moisture to the air, preventing your skin from drying out.

Warm showers for glowing skin

6. Exfoliate: Exfoliating helps to remove dead skin cells and allows your moisturizer to penetrate more deeply. Use a gentle exfoliating scrub once or twice a week to keep your skin looking bright and healthy.

Hydrate lips for glowing skin

1. Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate: Drinking plenty of water is essential for keeping your skin hydrated from within. Aim to drink at least eight glasses of water a day and opt for herbal teas (bonus: antioxidants), bone broths (bonus: collagen), and soups and stews, which will help you stay warm and hydrated.

3. Protect Your Skin: Even on cloudy days, UV rays can still penetrate your skin, leading to sun damage. Using a physical SPF (look for zinc and titanium oxide as the main ingredients) with at least SPF 30 to protect your skin from the harmful UV rays.

5. Take Shorter Showers: As tempting as it is to take long, hot showers in the winter, they can actually do more harm than good. Hot water can strip your skin of its natural oils, leaving it feeling dry and irritated. Try to keep your showers short and use lukewarm water instead.

7. Don't Forget Your Lips: Our lips are prone to drying out during the winter months. Use a lip scrub and lip balm to keep them soft and supple.
