Chemical Peels

Jumpstart Your Glow

In our experience, one of the most feared and misunderstood facial treatments is the chemical peel. It seems that the word "chemical" has developed a negative connotation. We have been asked by clients if we have a chemical-free treatment. Well, no. That's impossible. A chemical is any substance made up of matter (liquid, solid, or gas). It can be a pure substance (an element) or any mixture. So, everything you breathe, see, ingest, or touch is made up of chemicals.

Now, we realize that what our clients are asking for is a natural or organic option. Another misconception is the idea that natural chemicals are better for you than synthetic chemicals. First, some of the most toxic chemicals on Earth are natural. Second, sometimes synthetic ingredients are safer for your health, such as synthetic melatonin supplements, since those naturally derived may contain viral material. Third, some synthetic chemicals are better for the environment, for example natural sources of vanilla (the vanilla bean) are being depleted. We aim to keep our treatments as clean as possible, safe, and effective.

All of the chemical peels we offer have been balanced to deliver the most useful and essential ingredients to your skin! We work very hard to make sure our clients are in the best possible hands. Remember, "chemical" is not a bad word!

BiorepeeL

BIOstimulation, REvitalization, PEELing.

This incredible peel uses a patented 2-phase technology. This is a bio-stimulating, revitalizing, peel-like effect without the downtime of a traditional peel. Its rich composition and active ingredients effectively prevent the aging of the skin. It has been clinically tested and proven to decrease and or eliminate damage from UV rays, pigmentation, acne, and acne scarring.

The BioRePeel works utilizing biostimulation technology. BioRePeel dissolves bonds between the cells and carefully removes the outermost layer of skin. This encourages the production of collagen and elastin while also increasing cellular turnover. While exfoliating the skin’s surface, it also stimulates the Fibroblast cells, which are the cells most responsible for the production of collagen and elastin. The result is a micropeel effect revealing a new layer of fresh, healthy, and luminous-looking skin.

BioRePeel Treatment

This peel is suitable for all skin types, colors, and ages. It is excellent for those who are acne-prone, have congested skin, and have skin with pigmentation and scarring (old or new). It is excellent at preventing aging as it contains essential amino acids and vitamins that all skin needs. Due to its extremely short downtime, it is a savior for those with a busy schedule and frequent social commitments.

Frequently Asked QuestionS

  • Did you know that Egyptians were using a form of chemical peeling over 5,000 years ago? They understood the benefits of lactic acid and various fruit acids for skin conditioning. They were on top of the beauty game! More recently (1882) physicians began using deeper peels and treatments really became popular after Antoinette La Gasse brought them over to the United States from France in the 1930's and 40's. Estheticians came on the scene in the 1980's and have been peeling clients ever since.

Skin is the largest organ on the human body. It is also the one exposed to the elements and taking a beating day in and day out. When we expose our skin to damaging ultra-violet rays from the sun, pollution, changing climates, and other elements we do some damage! That damage can show itself in the skin as fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, flakey/dry skin, etc. Usually these issues are showing up within the top layers of the skin, which is where a chemical peel comes in.

A chemical peel is an acid solution applied to the face to remove the outermost layer or layers of skin. The skin crusts, scales, and peels over several days at varying degrees depending on the depth of the peel. The new skin that grows in its place is softer, smoother, and has fewer imperfections.

Chemical peels are important in maintaining the health of your skin, but they are also one of the most effective facial treatments there is. Chemical peels can be used to help correct issues such as uneven tone, fine lines and wrinkles, dark spots and even acne. Another wonderful asset of chemical peeling is that there is a peel available for most every skin type!

  • If you are looking to improve the texture and appearance of your skin due to damage from aging, the sun, acne, acne scarring, or dark spots, you are a good candidate for a face peel. If it is your first time using a chemical peel, we make sure to take a conservative approach to maximize results and minimize discomfort. This means that we start slow and make sure the skin is responding well before we move to deeper, more aggressive peels. Think of it as a workout for your skin.

We are always here to assist you with any questions you may have about chemical peels!

Yet, not everybody is a good candidate for a chemical peel. You are NOT a good candidate for a chemical peel if any of the following apply at the peel site:

    → Active Infection or Disease

    → Cut or broken skin

    → Sunburn

    → Experiencing Active Herpes

→ If you are nursing or pregnant

→ If you have taken Accutane in the last 6 months

    If you currently have:

    → Psoriasis

    → Eczema

    → Dermatitis

Before appointment please discontinue Retin-A, Renova, prescription skin care products, products that contain ascorbic acid, bleaching, or skin-lightening agents, and other acid products should be discontinued at least 48 hours before a chemical peel.

  • Depending on chemical strength and individual healing times, it can be anywhere from no downtime to 7-10 days of flaking and peeling skin. Your skincare coach will walk you through your specific treatment and let you know what you can expect.

  • A series of 3 to 6 treatments spaced a month apart is recommended to get the desired results in the shortest amount of time. Since the skin continues to age, more treatments in the future can help clients keep pace with the body's natural aging process. Proper skincare and facials, in addition to a healthy diet, also play a role.
